Joy wasson

Coordinator, Arkansas Forests and Drinking Water Collaborative

Joy Wasson is Coordinator of the Arkansas Forests and Drinking Water Collaborative. Joy spent the previous 15 years as a Project Manager and Program Director for The Nature Conservancy’s River Conservation Program where she passionately assessed, surveyed, designed, and restored some of Arkansas’ most beautiful, and often highly impacted, river systems. Previous to TNC she was the Source Water Protection Technician for the Arkansas Rural Water Association and enjoyed helping rural water utilities develop source water protection plans. Joy has experience building meaningful partnerships and funding to support critical water quality improvement projects and has worked as a liaison between corporations and environmental organizations to arrive at win-win solutions for all involved to support conservation of The Natural State’s waterways. Joy is excited to tap into the passion Arkansans have for stewarding the resources within the “Natural State” and collaborating with the members of the Arkansas Forest and Drinking Water Collaborative to improve the state’s forests and drinking water.
